John Nash was born this day in 1752. He was the architect responsible for planning large areas of west London for the Prince Regent, later George IV. His often theatrical deigns appealed to royal taste. His work at Buckingham Palace may be seen on the elegant façade facing the garden. His most famous building is Brighton Pavilion with its fantastic skyline of Moorish domes and minarets and lavish interiors.
