Bankfield Museum, Boothtown Road, Halifax The former home of Edward Ackroyd, one of Halifax’s foremost woollen and worsted manufacturers, Bankfield has been a museum since 1887. There is a range of galleries and displays including Art, Local History, a Fashion Gallery and the Duke of Wellington’s Regimental Museum.

We take a short drive to the town centre for a lunch break (own arrangements). There are a variety of venues in and around the Piece Hall.


Meet in the Piece Hall for a guided walk looking at Halifax history and architecture (including Georgian) ending at the Minster at approximately 3.30pm.
