Annual York Trip
Sunday, 11th March 2012
Yesterday's trip to York was a great success, and for once the weather was mild and sunny! The walking tour, led by Edward Waterson, took in St Olave's Church and Vicarage (kindly opened to us by The Rev'd Jane Nattrass) and culminated with a visit to Mr & Mrs Waterson’s new house. In the afternoon there was an entertaining lecture by Dr Kerry Bristol on James “Athenian” Stuart.
See photos from the trip here:
Saint Olave's has recently been the victim of a number of lead thefts and will welcome your kind donations.
This pair of developers town houses was reworked by Francis Johnson & Partners to create a building that truely complemented its early ninetheenth century setting. The architects received the 2011 York Design Award (New Build - Residental) for the project. http://www.francisjohnson-architects.co.uk/town-house-york.htm (read more...)
